To facilitate the recycling process, participants are asked to divide recyclables into distinct groups. The following categories have been established, along with guidelines for preparation:

  • Cardboard: Must be flattened and securely bound together.
  • Paper: Includes magazines, newspapers, books, and paper delivery bags.
  • Clear Plastic: Comprises water or soft drink bottles and clear rigid fruit packaging.
  • Coloured Plastic: Encompasses detergent bottles, yogurt containers with lids, and milk bottles.
  • Soft Plastics: Should include bread bags, shopping bags, and any soft packaging.
  • Glass Bottles and Jars: Excludes window panes and crockery.
  • Bottle Tops: Acceptable only from drinkable items such as soft drink, milk, juice, and bottled water; these should be collected in a separate bag.
  • Tetrapak: Must be rinsed out and flattened (for example, Liquifruit and long-life milk cartons).
  • Tin Cans: Includes food cans only.
  • Aluminium Cans: Broadly includes any beverage cans.

Importantly, polystyrene products are strictly prohibited. Recycling materials will be accepted exclusively on Wednesdays from 09:00 to 10:00, and residents are cautioned not to arrive prior to 09:00 to ensure orderly operations.
